Sporting Life

Sporting lifeStudents are encouraged to participate in sports offered within the College. They can elect to study the subjects Physical Education or Sport and Recreation in Years 11 and 12, which cover the theoretical and practical sides of sport.

An aquatics carnival, athletics carnival, triathlon, and a cross-country involve students in inter-house competition. Attendance at these carnivals is an important part of school life and is compulsory. In addition, there are inter-school carnivals and trials days in these sports.

The College fields teams in local and / or school competitions in the following sports: netball, touch, basketball, rugby union, rugby league, soccer, tennis, hockey, waterpolo, volleyball, and indoor cricket.

St Patrick’s reputation for sporting excellence has been hard won and provides a source of pride not only for immediate members of the College community but the wider community as well.
